Compression Testing Machine
A compression testing machine being used to determine compression strength. The typical specimen is a 2" cube.

C-704 Abrasion Testing Machine
The C-704 testing machine is used to determine the abrasion resistance of a refractory material at room temperature. Abrasion is accomplished by blasting a refractory specimen with specified silicon grit using specified equipment and pressures. Typical specimen size is 4.5" X 1".

Typical Refractory or Concrete Test Specimens
The specimens shown above are marked and ready for testing. The 2" cubes are for compression testing, the 2" X 9" bar is for permanent linear change (usually shrinkage) and modudus of rupture testing, and the 4.5" X 1" plates are for abrasion testing.
